We know bad things happen in the world.
There are threats around us every day.
Some are obvious, some aren’t.
You could be in danger right now and may not even know it.
Just watch the news on any given night. You’re bound to
hear a story about a disaster that happened somewhere.
It’s an everyday thing. Look at what just happened in Houston.
Fact:Disasters don’t discriminate.
Maybe you’ve been lucky thus far. You might think it won’t ever happen to me, but the truth is, you WILL be affected by a disaster
at some point in your life. Just because something hasn't happened, doesn't mean it won't... There are more disasters on the horizon.
Will you be ready when it happens to you?
It's not a matter of if, but when...
During a disaster, you may not get a second chance.
Knowing what to before an emergency could
be the difference between life and death.
If you don’t know the answers to the tough questions,
or if you haven’t even thought about what you would do, your safety might be at risk if you’re faced with a disaster.
Do you want to risk your life and lives of your family?
If you could have the knowledge that would protect
yourself and your family? Wouldn’t you want it?
Would you know what to do?
If a disaster happened today, would you know how to react?
Would you be able to sustain yourself for up to 3 days
at home, at work or while traveling there was no
gas or electricity, no internet or no phone service?
Would you have enough food, water or other emergency supplies? What if you were stranded somewhere?
Would your family know what to do
if they were left alone in the same situation?
These are serious questions that need to be answered.
Other serious questions you need to ask yourself include:
What if 911 isn’t available?
What if hospitals are closed?
What if roads are closed or inaccessible?
If you had to evacuate, would you know where to go?
What would you bring? When would you go home?
